Description

Stellaris Elite phaco device creates a new standard for responsive IOP stabilization in cataract surgery. Stellaris Elite’s platform includes many innovative products and the possibility of continuous software updates and improvements based on expert feedback, allowing surgeons to expand their technical capabilities faster.

Stellaris Elite is a state-of-the-art combination of efficient ultrasound and intraocular pressure stabilization system for fast and safe phacoemulsification. Updated kits have been released for this system (described in the brochure).

Stellaris Elite’s venturi pump and dynamic infusion compensate for fluid flow changes to stabilize the eye’s anterior chamber and improve eye surgeon control. The system works fully automatically when the desired infusion pressure is set.

B+L Elite Anterior is the newest second-generation cataract machine on the market. It has been developed for demanding frontal surgery with an emphasis on the safety and user-friendliness of the procedure. Stellaris Elite’s adaptive fluidics, combined with the elegant Venturi pump, guarantees an unprecedentedly stable anterior chamber during surgery and an excellent grip on pieces of the nucleus.

The Stellaris handpiece features the Attune Energy Management system, which minimizes the amount of excessive phaco energy inside the eye, making the procedure even safer. The dual linear pedal enables horizontal control movement in addition to the traditional vertical direction, for example, for phaco energy. In this case, the amount of suction power is not tied to energy use.

The device can be ready for use in as little as three minutes, and Stellaris guides you through using the device with illustrative video animations.

Features of Stellaris Elite:

  • Adaptive Fluidics anterior chamber stability system.
The system automatically increases infusion pressure for anterior chamber stability. Dynamic infusion pressure compensation stabilizes changes in fluid flow for better control and stability.
  • Attune the ultrasound control system.
Efficient emulsification using 6-crystal ultrasonic handle 28.5 kHz. The needle stroke of 150 microns provides highly effective emulsification. Works in conjunction with AdaptiveFluidics.
  • Effective vitrectomy.
StellarisElite offers a wide range of vitrectomy probes. Modified vitrectomies provide the best quality of work. The maximum cutting frequency for vitrectomy has increased from 5000 to 7500 CPM. Using the numeric keypad, you can adjust the cutting frequency from 30 to 7500 CPM.
  • Venturi / rotary pump.
Balances suction and irrigation dynamics. More precise and predictable vacuum control.
Wireless pedal with dual line control.
Fully programmable pedal in two planes at any time. The ability to change the vacuum value and the operating modes of the tool is used both independently of each other and dependently – proportionally or inversely proportionally. Bluetooth™ wireless technology allows you to reduce the number of wires in the operating room and place the pedal anywhere convenient for the surgeon. All Stellaris Elites are equipped with an integrated control pedal.

Optimized to improve OR efficiency:

  • A compact device for a small space
  • Wireless foot pedal
  • Easy and quick preparation
  • Ready-to-use cassettes and hoses
  • Intuitive graphical operating system.
  • A comprehensive selection of accessories, handpieces, and ophthalmic instruments from Stroz and Synergetics
  • Expandable to vitreoretinal surgery

Vision Enhancement System.

B&L is still the only ophthalmic surgical manufacturer that combines the ability to perform both posterior and anterior segment cases using the same system. The B&L Elite continues this intelligent and convenient feature, making the Stellaris Elite a viable system for cataract and retina surgeons.

 1) Cataract Surgery

stellaris-elite-Cataract-Surgery

The Stellaris Elite introduces several exciting technologies to cataract surgery, namely Adaptive Fluidics™ and Atune® Energy.

Adaptive Fluidics™

Adaptive Fluidic technology from B&L provides the surgeon exceptional chamber control during every surgery step. Using the system’s Proprietary Dynamic Infusion Compensation technology, chamber stability is almost automatic, highly responsive, and becomes something that the surgeon doesn’t pay attention to anymore. The system monitors chamber pressure and adjusts infusion pressure to keep the chamber stable.

Atune® Energy

Atune® Energy provides the surgeon with mighty but controlled cutting power that no other B&L vision system has offered. Atune® is delivered through a six-crystal 28.5 kHz handpiece frequency, quickly cutting through dense cataracts. Atune® works hand-in-hand with the fluidics, creating a seamless cutting experience in a quiet, level-pressured chamber.

These two technologies allow the cataract surgeon to focus more on the surgery and less on the technology in use. Better focus creates better outcomes.

2) Retinal Procedures

stellaris-elite-retinal-Procedures

B&L has been providing industry-leading technology in retinal procedures for years. The Stellaris Elite is no exception. With upgraded cutting technology, visualization, and the new VITESSE Hypersonic Vitrectomy System, the Elite gives retinal surgeons many upgrades.

Cutting

The Elite system offers compatibility with 20g, 23g, or 25g vit cutters, including cutting up to a 7500 CPM rate. With this wide range of options, the surgeon can customize each surgical step the way she/he wants.

Visualization

Stellaris Elite combines xenon light sources (designed explicitly for small-gauge vitrectomy), fiber optic add-ons as small as 29g, and numerous specialized illumination options. Surgeons have a wide range of combinations, allowing them to choose what works best for them and the situation.

VITESSE Hypersonic Vitrectomy System

Vitesse hypersonic creates an immediate liquifying effect in a controlled area around the cutter, offering higher precision cutting levels to the surgeon. Vitesse is not a pneumatic cutter; it’s 100% open 100% of the time. Vitreous liquifies at the end of the port and is then aspirated. Vitesse is the first in retinal surgery and is only available on the Stellaris Elite Vision System.

3) Software & Design

stellaris-elite-retinal-Software

The Stellaris Elite is beautifully designed, compact, and intuitive. The touchscreen user interface is easy to navigate, making adjusting settings simple yet allowing highly complex manipulation of parameters simultaneously. And even though it makes no difference in surgery, Stellaris Elite is pretty to look at! One point for aesthetics!
